News from the Outreach Team

Happy Spring to everyone! The winter is almost over and we are praying for sunshine and 50 degree weather for our Easter Egg Hunt. The Easter Egg Hunt is all-set for Saturday March 23; volunteers are asked to come at 8:00 a.m. and park at the University Church next door to Asbury. We will have the Egg Hunt rain or shine; the Party Ponies are weathering-permitting.

Registration will start at 9:30 a.m. and the hunt will start at 10:00 a.m. We will have 4 age groups: 0 – 2; 3 – 4; 5 – 7; and 8 - 12. If at all possible the egg hunt will be outside. If the weather is too cold or wet, we will have the egg hunt inside.

We are in need of small wrapped candy to stuff the eggs - Small chocolate eggs and Hershey’s Kisses are a perfect size. We expect that Easter Bunny will be able to come to help us too!

We have 3 prizes per age group and a door prize that the winner must be present to claim. Amherst YES (Youth Engaged in Services) will be coming and helping with crafts and face painting. We are still collecting Chobani yogurt containers - this will be a cute craft of a small Easter Basket. Thanks to Sharon or this idea!
We will be having a bake sale again this year; last year we made almost $100.00 on this project alone. If possible, dropped off baked goods on Thursday or Friday prior to the Easter Egg Hunt. You can pre-bag cookies if you wish, but don’t worry if you can't. Outreach will take care of that. We are having the hot dog lunch gain this year, with a hot dog, bag of chips, and a drink for $3.00. This was a great fundraiser last year!

We need lots of hands to make this work and it really is a lot of fun - especially seeing the Fellowship Hall filled with wall-to-wall people. Please see Betsy Arthur if you want to help out. Thanks so much.

Please note: the Outreach Meeting for this month will be at Asbury right after the dinner at Bethel Baptist. All are welcome.

God Bless and thank you for all your support and enthusiasm.
